Don’t know whether it’s anything to do with my sore tongue(rubbing on chipped tooth) but my throat is raw - I can barely eat anything, am just drinking milk/soup. It’s been like this for days now and cannot get to see doctor for love nor money. Apart from gargling with salt water, taking chloraseptic, is there anything else I can try as at this rate I won’t be even attempting Christmas dinner :(

why can't you call 111? they will get you into a walk in clinic and would also organise an emergency dental appointment. I'm assuming you don't live on a remote island or in the middle of nowhere :o)
There is a lot of sore throats going round at the moment, I would suggest over the counter remedies unless the throat looks green then I would call 111
Xmas dinner is 6 days away, try TCP not many people think of using it these days.

Will they? Don’t think I’ve ever called it. I wouldnt want to ring as tho it was an emergency, which I assume 111 is for.
Non-emergency number for the NHS. NHS 111 can help if you have an urgent medical problem that is not an emergency issue and you’re not sure what to do. You will speak to an advisor, who will ask a series of questions about your condition, or the condition of the person affected.
999 is for an emergency not 111. My dads tooth broke last year and they got him a walk in the same day.

I use TCP for a sore throat but it does have such a strong smell. It works though.
