The last post! mainly for Maydup's benefit
My views on the NHS are borne out out of recent experiences with 2 GPs and my local hospital. I was misdiagnosed twice for two different conditions by two different GPs both local. Causing me a lot of grief and pain , in the first case , after an endoscopy at the local hospital and being dumped in a corridor for 2 hours and ignored , I asked what the diagnosis was. A young woman told me it was hypothermia! After some more time chasing round for someone who might know what they were talking about , it was Hiatus Hernia . In the latter case I have been left more or less disabled , can't walk further than 10 m or so, can't stand for longer than 5 mins. Finally after 18 Months waiting for a specialist appointment , I found out it could have been avoided with a correct diagnosis. During one stay in hospital I kept my medication in one of those day of the week marked containers. Nurse walked up to my bed and said "you will have your medication at home then"? and walked off with it before I could say anything . If you can you believe that. I could say more about the offhand/unhelpful attitude of GP and hospital staff, but let's leave it there . these are my own views and experiences so don't bite back by telling me how wrong I am and how your experiences have been wonderful.
