sqad, what to go think of this https://www.sennheiser-hearing.com/en-UK/p/conversation-clear-plus/ my husband has high frequency hearing loss, and doesnt wear his hearing aids much because it amplifies everything. would this sort of device be suitable for watching the telly and listening to my moaning etc??
bednobs...a common problem.....hearing aids accentuate sounds both wanted and unwanted. This is a reputable company, but the aid is expensive. it has Bluetooth which would be of help e.g watching TV. My advice is to ask for a trial period for your husband before considering buying it.
I know that this is a serious medical thread but ...
My dad had hearing loss as a result of working on steam trains. He was given hearing aids that he said: "they don't bloody work". I pointed out that they had been sitting on his coffee table since he got them still in their little box. Men!!
ok! i am the bank in this relationship, and i wouldnt normally sanction that much money on ANYTHING we couldnt all get use out of for years and years, but if we can find someone willing to give us a trial i might
I received free NHS hearing aids last October from Specsavers.
The audiologist asked me if I wanted them connected to my phone but I said no as I wanted to get used to them first before doing anything fancy. Apparently when connected to my phone I can choose levels of background noise and more directional hearing so that I could hear a companion talking to me in a noisy pub for example. I'll get this done at some point.
Maybe your husband's aids could be exchanged for these computer aided ones that I've been given.
