After my accident last Feb where I fell and fractured my spine, I was diagnosed with tendinopathy a few months later, due to terrible pain in both hips, and in the left leg especially, from the hip,all the way down the leg. Tbh I’d never heard of it before, but I can’t believe the pain from it. All yesterday my left leg was almost pulsating with this intense pain to the point that I just didn’t know what to do with myself. I’ve been taking co-codamol(soluble)as prescribed, but it’s not really touching it. I’m assuming that this is probably connected to my fall, but is there anything else that I can do to ease the pain? Sqads input would be very very welcome, and anyone else who has some knowledge of this x

Unfortunately tendinopathy can be unbearably painful. USS-guided steroid injections can bring good relief.

In the long-term referral to the Pain Management Team might be worth considering and if you have access to private healthcare that would speed things up.

If not, and in the meantime, topical analgesia, hot baths and hot water bottles give worthy relief most of the time.

I hope you feel better soon, Smow.
Not much to add to the above contribution.

Before entering down the paths outlined above, I would ask your GP if you could try Gabapentin as a long shot.

Gabapentin? I’ve no knowledge of this Sqad - what is it?x
Google it....originally for epilepsy and fits, but recently been found useful in nerve pain and extreme soft tissue pain and is known as a drug used for "neuropathic"pain.

Oh ok, interesting - I’ll look it up. Thanks x
I've been on Gabapentin recently, Smow, for my nerve impingement. It's very good but when I started titrating the dose up I started to feel drowsy with it - which was no bad thing for me and certainly wouldn't be for you given your insomnia.

I can vouch for its efficacy with neuropathic pain.
