Well, that's my diagnosis with help from Dr Google. The bursas above my right knee have swollen. They're not painful. They restrict movement a lot and do hurt if I try to pull my ankle up to my thigh. Right leg is unsteady and feels stiff.
Here's the weirdest question though. I never get anything wrong with me (I really ought to given my lifestyle). I am covering for someone at work rushed into hospital with an infection picked up when he had a recent operation on his....knee. He is out of hospital but at home on daily intravenous antibiotics.
Given the infinite improbability of developing a swollen knee whilst sitting at the desk and using the keyboard of someone with a knee infection....is there even a beyond remote possibility that I could have picked up some sort of bacterium that somehow has travelled to my right knee?

I like your original diagnosis........do you do a lot of kneeling in your work?

Not a remote chance of cross infection from someone else's knee.
