I have been referred for physio and he told me they didn't do injections any more, which doesn't appear to be true.

Yes, it's possible to inject different parts of the body at the same time, but we have to look at the overall amount of cortisone we're injecting. I do two different body parts, sometimes on the same visit, and I can adjust the dose of cortisone accordingly to limit the risks.
as for safety, ask them - if they are offering.
dose is ltd - see above

I'm having both knees replaced this year.
I've had my preop and I have an appointment to see the anaesthetist in a few weeks time.
The operation was offered to me a few years ago but I turned it down and had acupuncture instead, waste of time.
Since last August my knees have both become so painful, I'm more or less housebound. I've had to give up my car as I can no longer drive it.
The reason I'm telling you this is because I'm now wishing I had them done the first time I was offered the operation, so if your knees are bad now, there's always the chance they will get worse, so please think hard about accepting what is offered to you.
The surgeon has explained all the things that could go wrong, but I can't bear the thought of being like this for the rest of my life.
