Did they say see a doctor because they thought the soreness and discomfort was an infection that needed an antibiotic prescription or did they suggest anything else. I'm not medically trained at all so my answer may be invalid but a cataract might make your vision blurry but it's not supposed to make you eye sore. I would in fact contact a doctor, I wouldn't leave it - although I'm surprised the chemist didn't offer an OTC low level antibiotic eye ointment/drops.
Thanks.
I would suggest that it is no big deal , but as you say the presence of recurrence does cause some concern.
What would I do? Take Ibuprofen or Paracetamol for the pain and if there is no improvement contact your GP on Monday.
If your symptoms get worse, then go to A&E at a Eye Hospital if possible.
