If you don't think the anti-biotics are working and he is still in discomfort I'd pop him along to your local A&E Dept.

Some don't always respond to a.b's and may require a quick surgical procedure, nothing drastic but where children are concerned I always err on the side of caution so best be on the safe side. If in doubt, take him to A&E.

I would second what philtaz says--very sound advise especially in a little chap of six,he must be going through agony with it.

Hope you receive some positive help for him and he recovers very soon.

i am 25 and still have an abcess 2 months on. i have had 3 sets of antibiotics and now another one has developed. get to the dentist and the tooth will probably need to come out . mine is getting removed next week
