Posting Your Body/ Fitness Pics On Social Media. Is It Just A Hobby Or Is It Narcissistic?
4 Answers
What is your opinion on young people (or older age I guess too) who are always posting pictures of themselves on Instagram/social media to show off their bodies? Do you think it’s healthy or not..
Do you think there must be an element of narcissism? Or is fitness and having the best body possible just a hobby like any other (albeit more self centered)

Some people, especially younger people, post constant selfies of themselve from all angles, in various clothing, in every pose possible.
I find it irritating.
But that, I think, may be because of my age. If I was 16 again, with a sylph-like figure and a wrinkle-free face, I might well do the same.

I'm not at all narcissistic. I just like posting my picture ;-)

For a (slightly) more serious answer, I think that many (most?) people like to show off in some way or other, whether that be by posting about how intelligent they are (or claim to be), telling everyone how rich they are, name-dropping about the famous people that they've met, or whatever. Such people will always be looking for something else to show off about. So, if they think that they look attractive, they'll want to let people know about it.
