Drag queens aren't always intended to be a comedy act, although I'll certainly agree that they are often "performative", and many drag queens wouldn't see themselves as trans.
Still, it *does* play with gender norms and gender diversity, and it in any case doesn't merit a reaction so crass as 1ozzy's first comment.

He is fine, his character will develop, nothing wrong with being who he wants to be. I have known a few drag queens, and gay men who just like to do drag for fun now and again and if that's how he expresses himself good luck to him. The hIstory of drag is surprisingly a political one, they were often the target of homophobic abuse and attacks at a time when do many gay men and lesbians referring in the closet they were at the frontline the battle for equality. So remember he is part of a history that is more than make-up and evening frocks.
