What's The Best Way To Deal With A Nosy Coworker Who Is Not My Boss?

I'm an office temp and sometimes take the day off for appointments (like we do) or I may need to slip off early in the afternoon. When I tell my co-worker I won't be in out of courtesy, she'll ask, "Is the appt for you or someone else?" or "What time is the appointment?", when I have to leave an hour or two earlier in the day.
It's none of her business but she is nosy.

Working closely with someone, I would probably have told that person that I would be going off at whatever time to go to dentist or whatever
so she wouldn't need to be nosy!

I think Barry has the right idea - a polite deflection maintains good working relations, she'll get the message pretty quickly, that you are not discussing your business outside the office.

time, give the answer that gives the max time
if she says, there are people nearer who can do this
say not suitable for me with my problem

you will end up with separate cancers of tongue, thyroid, belly button, and IBS at the bottom end with blood, and blood in wee
