Eye Pain Any Idea What It Could Be

The last few days I have been giving really bad stabbing pain in my right eye sometimes with headaches but more often than not on its own. It also feels like pressure in my eyeI have made an appointment to see my opticians on Tuesday but beginning to wonder if I should wait until then. I went for my diabetic screening which said I had diabetic changes but they didn't want to see me for a year. I don't know if they were just looking for retinopathy or they would pick up something else. There is also a family history of glaucoma my older brother just been diagnosed at 58

Well, my dad had glaucoma and I am being monitored for it - as yet they are not sure and the drops are doing their job and the pressures are down. I have never suffered the kind of eye pain which you describe from it, so I think you can rule out glaucoma.

geordie ...if you vision in that eye is normal and there is no redness or swelling, then nothing serious comes to mind.
It does not sound like Glaucoma or Diabetic Retinopathy.

Nothing serious comes to mind and I should wait until your appt on Tues, unless of course your vision changes, then seel medical help.

Gordie: Since my TIA which affected my vision I tend to over-worry about my sight, so I would be interested to hear how you got on at the Opticians.
