Why Did I Look Ugly As A Teenager But Handsome As A 25 Year Old?

I looked at a school picture of myself today from when I was in Y11 (2013) and I was shocked at how bad I looked, especially compared to now. My whole facial structure seems to have changed. I would probably say back then I was a 3/10 in looks and now at age 25 probably around a 7/10 (I know the looks scale is silly but it just gives a better general idea), how can a persons face go from being very unattractive to handsome in ten years?

I must admit though that men usually age better than women, though not all!
There was a boy in my class, a chubby little Mummy's boy.
Met up with him again about 40 years later and my o my, he was a gorgeous silver-haired fox.

Barsel- yes but this is just in the space of 10 years, not 40 lol. Looking at the picture my facial bone structure seems to have altered thus improving my looks dramatically

Perhaps your eyesight has improved over that 10 years. Or perhaps your school photo was a poor representation.

Canary- no definitely not lol. My face has changed a lot to where I look like a different person. I hadn’t noticed it until I looked at the picture today

I've seen little, tubby, bespectacled lads grow up into rather handsome guys - you are not alone.

I have seen some beautiful Yr6 boys change into spotty oiks in Yr11.
Is that the same thing?

You can't really judge your own looks. You may just be more confident and no longer fixating on your negative features.

Confidence in yourself can be an attractive trait. Obsession with your looks can lead to problems.

Just enjoy your life!

Tilly- exactly! My y6 photo was handsome, y11 photo was horrendous, then changed back to handsome 10 years later

Apart from zitz I've always being blessed with looking handsome. Maybe something inside you has changed and you see yourself differently. apart from age obviously.

As for Mr Hopkirk he's flocking gorgeous. aren't you fella.

Arksided- no I mean I can physically see my facial structure has changed. Ie. My cheekbones look higher, my eye area looks better, my jaw is now thicker and more defined, hair is better, eyebrows look better
