I have been the above plasters on an open wound on right side of ankle bone but they are very stingy. When I take them off I get a bit of a relief.

What should I do for the best thanks for any answers.

Were you told how long to use them for? They are doing an important job so you should use them as directed
Iodine/betadine does sting. It is used to prevent infection It is difficult to advise without seeing the wound. Are you being seen by a nurse or are you changing the dressing? The nurse in the surgery/doctors should see how the wound is healing and advise if you need to continue with iodine dressings or can use different ones

no barry - was not told - I had a lady nurse to dress my foot last Tuesday - there was a graze on my other knee I asked to put a wee dressing on it. She simply opened her jacket to tell me she was " podiatrist" and therefore not allowed to touch knees - which isn't that bad. I put one on myself.

I have one more day to find all this out as I am for the Fracture Clinic on Tuesday - so can ask for their advice.

Also the boot is rubbing against the wound. But soldier on LOL that is me

The only thing I know about Iodine plasters is they were the only treatment to heal an Ulcer on my ankle a few years ago. I understood at the time they weren't going to use them in future..no idea why that was tho.
