I've just found a dead mouse on my stairs.  It wasn't there earler this morning. Where did it come from ? How did it die ?

Open plan wooden staircase, it was 5 stairs up.

I've not come across any sign of mouse infestation, I don't have a cat.

Weird, weird, weird.

Mice just run in to homes sometimes.  Maybe the stairs were too much for it and it had a heart attack.  ;o)

Mice can get in through a tiny hole.  And they all have to die of something, sometime.

Was it wearing clogs?

Always liked that song.  :o)

Maybe thought your house was The Stilton?

Update: Another mouse appeared, live this time and in the bedroom, , rushed out when I lifted a pile of laundry and quickly disappeared.

So I went out and bought a trap today and it's now set and awaiting a victim.

(Still no infestation signs downstairs, so I reckon they may be in the loft space and fall through into the bedrooms via the eaves. Perhaps I'll go up there and have a look when I get the energy (loft access a bit of a struggle).

Be careful, Canary.  Can't you get someone else to go up into the attic?

Noooo, I wouldn't dream of imposing on anyone else.  The Nutcracker's coming to Portsmouth soon so perhaps I could get the soldiers in.💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂
