Pyotraumatic Dermatitis/Hot Spots

Had dog to vet today due to severe itching and he's been diagnosed with the above, poor little thing 😕

As we're away from home, we went to a pets at home vet and can't recommend them highly enough. Rang up at 3pm and were seen by a lovely vet at 4.15pm, the whole experience was great, can't fault them, would definitely use them again if we were away from home.

Vet emptied his anal glands, our vet at home had been contacted for dogs history, vet shaved dogs flank and we could immediately see the inflammation causing dogs distress. Dog is now sleeping peacefully, thankfully, and has a weeks worth of antibiotics and anti allergy pills. We also have an appointment with our own vet once we're home.

Dog has one more day of antibiotics but this awful infection has completely cleared up. We've cancelled his vet appointment this week, he sees the vet anyway in two weeks for his injection and will ask him then if any further tests are needed, we think it was probably an infected tick bite.
