I have been very unwell since Christmas Day as I vomited all of that day and still am being sick every single day.   Can anybody advise me of a tonic I can buy to help me back on the road again.

Thanks

If you have been sick every day since Christmas, I think that  it is time to consult your GP. T.b.h..

You need to speak to your GP's surgery - remote advice from here is not suitable.

^^ To help yourself you could buy Dioralyte crystals  to drink with (boiled, cooled) water to provide essential minerals etc..

Crossed posts, but good advice.

thanks - I did get a Pneumonia vaccination the week before and tbh I blame that - can't hardly walk do any thing about the house - I have never felt as bad in my life.  Funny an old neighbour bought me the Dialoyrite things today and I only took one but will take more tomorrow

Definitely you need to see you GP.  We can't advise.  Even our Sqad couldn't have helped.  There are many reasons for what might be  wrong.  I hope you get well soon.

I agree that you should see GP. I had norovirus over new year but the vomiting receded after 24 hrs. If you are still being sick you should seek medical advice.

Until you see a doctor try to drink very small amounts, a tablespoon every 15 minutes water, seven up or diarolyte. Are you going to the bathroom and do you have diarrhoea.

if you have been vomiting since Xmas you should really get help. Can you go to an emergency room, call for an ambulance and at least get checked over as soon as possible

JJ please at least try and drink, water is fine.  You really MUST keep hydrated.  When my litle dog was being sick and not eating or drinking he ended up on a machine for 36 hours being rehydrated.  Twice. You don't want that to happen to you.

Please take care of yourself sweetheart.  xxx

Good advice LB. I would also emphasise that you need to keep taking water in small amounts but consistently. I was amazed that having tried to hydrate while  I was being sick I managed to vomit water: I reckon I had too much when my stomach was still very sensitive 😢

That's a long time to be sick, JJ. Please call an ambulance. You need to be checked out. x

Have you got someone to look after Maxie if you go to hospital JJ?

just popping on from my bed to the computer - I have indeed been living on water and indeed when I vomit it is all water apart from Christmas day when I constantly vomited green sludge, it went everywhere in the living room, out the back then I just had to use a basin from then on cos I knew I wouldn't make it - don't know what I would do without the water - I will ring my doctors on Monday - I know I could have done this earlier but I kept saying to myself - och you will be ok tomorrow and on and on - fluctuate with diarhorrhea (sp) on and off

Question Author

LB - as I said - will try and get to doctors on Monday

JJ - keep on taking small amounts of water at a time (not too much and not too cold) and please arrange an appointment with your GP. I have had a few weeks punctuated by viruses but none as bad as this.

You need to call 111 now. You have had this for 18 days on the trot and haven't called for medical advice? No point waiting until Monday, that would only be a phonecall too. Even the fittest person in the world couldn't have V&D for that long without being floored.

Jj, too long to be ill.
contact as advised) ., 111. Don't wait till Monday .

Small amounts of water is good but small amounts of seven up or coke would be better as would dialoryte. Even ginger tea with a little honey. But only small amounts of anything.A doctor or hospital visit tonight or at least tomorrow morning would also be a good thing

JinnyJoan, I think you should phone 111 for help, right away, rather than wait until Monday.

Or, have someone call 111 on your behalf.

You will be malnutritioned as well as dehydrated.  The NHS advice is to call 111 after 48 hours of vomiting.  You would have taken Maxie to the vets lomg ago if he were vomiting daily.

Call 111 now and stop messing about.
