Did anyone else witness the worst contender I have ever seen on Celebrity Mastermind the other evening?  A female comedienne of short stature managed to accrue 2 points for the entire three and a half minutes of questions, including those of her own choice.  Viewing was excruciating.

Don't watch it. But that would be a reason I'd never contemplate going on such a show. Was it a normal episode or a "celeb" special ?

Never mind, just read the title. Thst is a contributory factor then. "Celebs" need not be known for their knowledge and calm thought under pressure. Probably just agree to go for the money.

Funny how nobody ever mentions when people on quiz shows do well like the celebs on The Weakest Link accrued £19,350 (which I think was the highest ever) and Ed Byrne went on to win it for a mountain rescue team.

The ones we never hear about are those who are too scared to go on it in case they only score 2 points. At least she had a go

It was shocking, the lady knew as much about Tina Turner as the black chair did. Common courtesy suggests she should read a little about her specialist subject.

Don't know much about TT, but with a few educated guesses I got 6.

I have a casual interest in TT, and I scored six also, and seven on her general knowledge. 

I know that the majority of 'young people' have very poor general knowledge, mainly  because they don't read, but there is no excuse for not researching a specialist subject.

If I had done it, I'd have got all of them.

Celebrity mastermind has always been dumbed down, but so has the regular programme now.  I've given up watching both.

I remember Dana and felt very sorry for her as I did for the woman yesterday.

Whether the questions are dumbed down or not I can imagine anyone might get brain freeze with the tension of the situation.   Its much easier to know the answer in the comfort and privacy of the home.

Good on them for earning some money for their charities.
