When he was Prince of Wales he paid tax on any excess profits from the Duchy of Cornwall at a rate of 50%. Didn't need to but he did until he married Diana and then still paid tax at a lower rate. Anybody on AB pay 50%?

Hysterectomy soundsthe most likely explanation to me.

Nobody on AB has forefathers that managed to grab a Duchy to exploit.

She could have had a myomectomy, removal of fibroids, or gall bladder, or a colectomy. Abdominal surgery technically means the abdomen is opened. A longer stay in a private hospital is not totally unusual. Adelaide cottage has only 4 bedrooms so there is no live in help and although they are at school three active children. She would have had general anaesthesia and that can affect people differently.

She might have endometriosis ?

Whatever it is she'll do it with style and grace.

One of the few things that works properly in this ruin of a country.
