i've had arthritis for nearly 16years.i was only 4years old when diagnosed with chronic juvenile arthritis.i first had it in my ankles, then it went to my knees and hip.i had about 8years of hydro therapy and it helped alot.occassionally my elbow would stiffen up and i couldnt bend it,so i had steroids injected into the joint.this made it much better.i'm currently having injections every week now.looking back,my joints have improved, but they are not 100%.
Hi butterfly76. I feel for you, and your daughter. when I was 12, I had a VERY bad ear infection( so bad I remember telling my mum I wanted to die...). Anyway, they put me on a drip in hospital, and guess what...I developped an allergy to the antibiotic they gave me ( I'm an academic case now, apparenly. When they teach medical students about what NOT to give to kids, I'm an example...lol). anyway, I developped polyarthrithis in most joints, especially knees, elbows, ankles and wrists. I could not move for 3 months. That was the worst pain I ever experienced ( they told my mum they'd only seen elderly people in the last stages of arthritis being that bad ). So, my advice is ( I know it's not that much..), go to your doc now, and have a pain killer prescribed for when it's bad, and physio for when it's ok. I pray to god your baby will get better - and I'm sure she will. I'm fine now, although I feel it when the whether gets humid ( like an old person, and I'm only 28 ! ) but that's it.If you're not happy with what you get in the NHS, ask for more ! I can't believe your daughter was sick for so long and nobody though about doing tests.Good luck, and lots of kisses to your little angel !XXX
