What’s Happened To Ab Lately? Is It Just Me??

I used to log on here 1st thing every single morning, join the GMEB thread - which often would go on for ages when everyone joined in, then throughout the day I would constantly log in and read/ join in posts, or add my own. All would have plenty of comments from all the regulars and was great fun. Now lately it's so so quiet on here! Many posts barely get any comments at all, maybe one or two, half the regulars seem to have vanished, even the GMEB threads are nowhere like they used to be. The last couple of posts Ive put up have had just a couple of replies. Where has everyone gone?? Apart from a v small handful of posters who are constantly posting endless post after  post of completely random subjects(has this put regulars off??
Or is this all just my imagination?

Yes, I can't believe it but when I first joined, I'd spend far too long on here, but now I spend very little time chatting and haven't actually posted a question for a long time, mainly because of the rude answers I would sometimes get.

Like you, I look in, but I don't usually stay for long, as there isn't usually much that grabs my attention. Always read and respond if I can, to your posts though Smow. x

Something that bothers me is when someone asks a question and then you answer, but they don't come back to say they have even seen your answer. I do find that very frustrating.

Rather sad, isn't it? When I come on, my heart sinks when I see the same questions repeatedly in latest posts...over and over.

Proper, open minded discussion is a thing of the past...as is natter.

I'll just come on to ask advice on something...that's about it.

Hi Pasta! I would agree Dave, but the 'Questions' aren't genuine questions, they're utterly random stuff lol, which is absolutely fine , but not post after post after post!!

When I saw the headline, I thought it was going to be about a poster whose name begins with Ab and I thought why are you asking about her? Then I read on and thought, thank goodness, it's not what I thought it was going to be.😀

Did you miss the GMEB thread on Saturday Smow. That was well attended, and civil.

I saw and joined in that Togo with Minty and LadyCG. Think it went over 100 answers, but I don't think Minty or Lady CG said they would be back for good. I think that may have drawn others out that haven't posted for a while.

I spotted it afterwards Togo - that was a good show on Sat wasn't it! Back like the old days!

I stopped contributing when I took time to post replies, some rather long and then without explanation the whole thread would be deleted.

'We don't have to give up time to contribute on here and I no longer do.

Plus the site is very old fashioned.

You can't even edit your reply if you have typing errors.

A history of edits coukd be shown like on Facebook or edits allowed for say first 30 minutes of posting reply.

Just noticed my avatar picture is no longer works either.

Maybe its the regular arguments between certain members, it gets so old quickly

I think some have been put off by the boring repetive posts by two or three posters.

Plus personal antipathy between some abers has led to a lot of needless sniping. We all like some abers  and find others irritating but the easiest thing is to avoid those threads, not have a dig

I recently back on AB after a good few years way (not prision), and it's not as busy as it used to be, I agree. There does seem to be a few regulars posting numerous times a day on a variation of the same topic.

On a side note, I was sad to hear of Sqad's passing.
