Sweetcorn In A Bag Of Mixed Veg

Probably a silly question, but why do they put sweetcorn in a bag of mixed vegetables?

 

Personally I hate the taste of sweetcorn, but it's a pain when I have to take out all the sweetcorn from the rest of the vegetables. 

 

I like most veg, but I hate sweetcorn. I'd rather it if they added sprouts. 

 

Is there a shop that sells a bag of mixed veg minus the sweetcorn?

Tesco do a mix veg in their freezers. It's not actually Tescos but something like Harvest.

You will just have to look at the supermarkets websites to check the ingredients of the mixed veg

I'm guessing that you're referring to frozen mixed veg.  If so, Birds Eye offer 640g bags of Country Mixed Vegetables, with no sweetcorn included:

They're currently on special offer, at two bags for £4, in Morrisons.  (£2.69 each).  Sainsbury's and Tesco have them at £2.70.  Iceland charge £2.60.

I love sweetcorn though.  My biggest moan is that some restaurant chains, such as Harvester, serve it still in the cob, making it far too difficult to eat easily!

straight off the plant, brush with oil, maybe even a Cajun rub, black pepper, and onto the barbie.....a little bit of butter over it before serving and delish!

I don't even think sweetcorn is good for you. I was always told to eat my greens as a child, but sweetcorn is yellow and oily.

The reason some people don't like sweetcorn in their mixed veg. is because sweetcorn does not go with gravy.
