Strands 259. Would You Look At That

Has anyone bought Gaby Logan's fitness DVD and if so would you recommend it.
I am looking for something to help with toning, especially my tummy, that only takes about half an hour a day can anybody recommend anything?
Thanks

I would advise anyone not to buy these useless so called Fitness dvds, they are only produced to make money for the production companies and minor celebrities who cannot get work elsewhere.
A programme on TV just a few days ago showed extracts from a lot of these fitness videos and pointed out how useless they are!
You would do just as well to put on one of your CDs and prance around your living room like a prat.
Go to a Gym and take the advice of the qualified instructers that are there if you really want to tone your body and are prepared to put in a lot of hard work.
Good luck with your battle.
For a start, forget about training like a girl if youre training, youre training, and theres only one way. Find a few exercises youre comfortable with and do just them, using lots of deep breathing and concentration as you do the movements (dont waste your time on the other exercises, the ones that dont appeal to you if youre not happy working out, you wont last the course). Focus your energy on the area youre working (e.g. abs), and flex the muscles as hard as you can (then try even harder). Move from one set of exercises to the next with very little rest, keeping up the pace, and youll have yourself a nice little workout. And youre body will be burning up fat at a phenomenal rate.
Ten or fifteen minutes will probably be plenty (even five minutes will be tough at first, if youre working hard and concentraing). And a couple of times a week get out in the fresh air and do some sprints just fifty or a hundred yards (starting with short runs and not too fast), resting a few minutes between sprints. Work up to doing, say, ten sprints, putting 100% effort into each one. And if you have a hill nearby (even a slight incline), sprint up that and walk back down between sprints (dont try this til youre definitely up to it, its a killer). When youve finished that, spend a few minutes shadow boxing, dodging and weaving, jabbing and hooking, and really going for it, til youre gasping. Dont be soft on yourself, or youll stay soft. Follow a routine like this and youll surprise yourself with how quickly you become really fit and how readily your body sheds unwanted pounds.
Oh, and forget about the videos, the only pounds theyll shift is from your pocket to the fast-growing bank account of the latest fitness guru.
I agree with dreaming, i cant afford a gym membership so i bought Davina's and find it very good
if i do the exercises on my own i stop when i get fed up of doing them but when i have a DVD to following i do all the exercises and know ive done a good hour of exercises. Combined with eating the right things i have lost weight.
Go for it Cag 69, what you got to lose?
HI again,
Thanks for the back up on the Videos Snook, as you say training has got to be tough or you don't get results!
I have never seen anyone dancing around like a prat at a gym, as I said above get proper instruction from qualified personel, they will make you become committed, it is very hard to keep the training going at home,
It has taken me 3 years to get down to my correct weight and fit , the way I did it was by going to our local Gym and the Swimming Pool in the Gym, I now swim 1 mile in 30 minutes three times a week,
I will be 65 in 2 months time.
wow, good for you! i am on a health kick as well, although i am 25! i have currently lost 2 stone on weight watchers, have a a few more to go! When i first started getting slim was my aim, but now it has taught me i need to get fit as well and i am actually enjoying it!
good for you on your hard work, keep it up! :-D
Hi all,
Sorry about going on about the Gym , I use my local JJB Gym, it only costs me 19.99 a month, this includes FREE lessons and classes in aerobics, pilate, belly dancing, ( I have not done that, yet!) fat burning and many others, I also have full use of a very good gym and swimming pool with a dedicated lane for fast swimmers. If I went to my local swimming pool three times a week it would be more expensive than the above Gym subscriptionand I would not have use of the "fast" lane.
