Nope.

Very, very rarely, about once every blue moon - iceberg shredded and bagged.

Yes. Most of the lettuce you buy in the shops is grown using hydroponics.

I won't touch bagged salad, though.

I am - is there any reason why I shouldn't  - love Little Gem and Stilton sandwiches  .

I don't buy bagged lettuce as ot doesn't keep and gets wasted. I bought an Iceburg today and have soaked it in vinegar and salt. Not eaten it yet.

as it doesn't  keep.

When having a salad we always use rocket and/or watercress as the 'green' bit. Much more flavour than any lettuce.

I like little gems or iceberg. Just lately been eating spinach. A lot of the mixed bag salad, smells horrible. I don't those.

Yes, whole Iceberg wrapped in clingfilm ..  like it for filled rolls/sandwiches with cheese and tomato.  Never heard about soaking it in vinegar and salt, Tilly.

I've always got some iceberg in the fridge & add one with every delivery.  I eat it every day in whatever sandwich I have for lunch.

Yes, Little Gem, Sweet Gem or Iceberg in an emergency.  Any reason why I shouldn't? They usually have a wrapping, but I don't buy 'bagged salad'.

They all keep perfectly well for me in the bottom 'veg box' of the fridge.

Can't remember when I last bought an iceberg lettuce, must be years ago. I tend to buy little gem or those other ones which are a bit bigger, can't remember the name.

The only bagged salad stuff I buy are pea shoots, watercress or baby spinach.

Why do you soak iceberg in vinegar and salt, Tilly?

Tilly, are you thinking of the recent e-coli outbreak where lettuce was implicated in bought sandwiches and wraps.

As far as I am aware there has been nothing further in the news.

Still ???

Has anyone tried the new Truss lettuce  ?

I gave up on Lettuce and I now buy bags of Spinach instead.

I have a whole iceberg in fridge. I usually buy the gems. Never considered soaking it though.

Not been a lot of support, Gulliver.

only occasionally, but when I do I don't feel impelled to make it taste of potato crisps. 😬
