Can The Media Learn How To Pronounce...

I went to the doctors with a vaginal infection. He did a swap (wont have the results until Friday) and gave me antibiotics as he said it def wasn't thrush.
It says on the antibiotics that they treat trichomonas among other things. I looked this up on the internet, and it has all of my symptoms. The thing is it says it is sexually transmitted. I'm devastated.
I'm with my husband 10 years, we have a little 2 year old and I have NEVER been unfaithful. So this means he must have been. I have never been with another guy. But its not an infection I may have picked up when we first started sleeping together 10 years ago, as I had a smear last year, that came out clear (it also said on the net, that trichomonas is detected in smears). Plus the symptoms come straight away, and I have only got them 3 weeks ago, a day after my hubby and I slept together, to be honest. (although we use condoms so as not to get pregnant) but of course there is close contact.
Has my hubby cheated on me? I'm struggling with the belief. As we both have strong views on cheating, and he has NEVER gave me any reason to suspect. And we are quite close.
Am I jumping the gun? Can other infections have the same symptoms? Or can trichomonas, not necessarily be an STI. (My symptoms are swollen, sore, itchey with quite a lot of guey discharge, greenish/dark creamy in colour and I have bleed a little from the soreness.
The doctor didn't mention an STI when examining me, but did take a swab, I dont think I can wait 3 days for the results. I'm in such a state.
If I confront my hubby, he will go mad that I don't trust him, and if I am wrong, will ruin our marriage.
