Access To Hotmail

I usually access my emails on my iPad or iPhone by pressing on an icon.  Yesterday when I did this I got a message that said account error hotmail details.  When I pressed on details the message was cannot connect to server and cancel or repair.  Is it ok to use repair.  I can still access my emails through my browser but it's not as convenient. As you can probably tell,  I'm not particularly knowledgeable about technology.

Microsoft requires modern authentication for outlook/hotmail accounts as of 16th Sep. If you're using Apple Mail, the above link suggests removing and re-adding your hotmail account. If you decide to do that, you will need to know your password. I suggest you read the above link and see what you think.
