What is Bradford's culture ?

I was born in Bradford (as was my wife), and, for the next 52 years, I lived in various parts of Bradford. When we moved to Leeds, we were congratulated by a work colleague on moving away from Bradford. I soon began to see why he said that. During my time there, I never really regarded Bradford as a City of Culture. Life there was OK, but never better than that. But now, I am rather surprised at Bradford's being given that title. One has to read between the lines to understand why so many negative comments are being made about Bradford. I think that, if I say any more, I might end up with a legal problem, so, I'll say just this: Bradford might have been worth this title many years ago, but it certainly isn't worth it now.

I think the header is missing a question mark🙄.

the same as rotherham's and many other towns.cities

I visited Hull the year it had this title and was very pleasantly surprised at how much fine culture was evident, and of course it boosted the city quite considerably. But I doubt if Ab's xenophobes have the intelligence to recognise culture anyway, being immersed so deeply in their bigotry they can't see over the edge of the racist rut in which they trundle through life.

Canary, you bleat on so regularly, without explanation, about Xenophobes I can't decide whether you're a bigot or you think it makes you sound intelligent.  A bit of both I suspect.

The attitude of Canary and his ilk allowed raped gangs to continue their depravity with impunity.

Can you believe someone actually typed this

// It's all very well berating the Muslims for this, but never forget unless the demand was there, they wouldn't do it. And where does the demand come from - good old-fashioned Brits, frequently of high or influential standing (e.g. Cyril Smith, Savile) who use their "power" to suppress investigation.//

unbelivable but true.

That is truly appalling.

What a load of nonsense canary

It's just mad.  Utterly mad.

If Canary42 believes what he posts then he's not right in the head.

I might be boring ABers that just don't care but I have no intention of ceasing. I think it is imperative that we have a national inquiry and it is essenstial that those guilty of Misconduct in Public Office are named and prosecuted.

Like Bookbinder.  When I was growing up there was great theatre etc. 'Little Germany' theatre showed performances that wouldn't find it profitable in bigger theatres.  The Halle orchestra played a regular season at the St. George's Hall.

By 2000 I was so desperate (OK other things involved as well) that I fled to France and vowed never to return. My sister lives 1 side of Bradford and the garage she co-owns and runs with my nephew is in Calderdale - Bradford is in-between.  She drives an extra 10 miles each way to avoid it.

Does this help at all?
