How far apart on a curtain do you place the hooks that hold it up?

depends on the curtains, the heavier the closer together they should be.

Depends on how you want them to hang.  Every 6 'pockets' is a good balance, 4 if you want a smaller pleat.

Make sure they are well secured.  You don't want them to fall down if someone decides to climb up them.😂

The fittings already in place look fairly secure and the likely curtain climbers aren't that heavy.🐈‍⬛🐱

I'll go and get the curtains on Saturday if the storms abated.

I count up the hooks I have then ÷2. Then I count up the number of options to put hooks at the top of the curtain and divide that number by the first number-1 so they are evenly spaced with a hook at each end.

Of course you can make a guess and use trial and error to achieve the same result.

I agree with Barry's figures, but have spaced them further occasionally, and have got away with up to 10 in one case.
