But, I don't think asking other people is particularly going to be helpful, simply because they're not you. I realise that's not terribly encouraging, but these things just happen when they happen. My belief is that it's not something you can force because it's all about someone with whom you can be entirely natural.

Met my present wife when I was 25 and she was 17 at, of all places, my wedding to my first wife ( she is my first wife's cousin). That was a miserable marriage and when it ended several years later we got together and have been blissfully happy ever since, so although I'd known her since 25 I was 35 before we got together as a couple.
i was 19 and i am 50 this year so thats 31 years ..before i met mr m i did enjoy myself a lot working in cornwall for summer seasons i joined the raf briefly!! dont ask about that one..and i used to go out 7 nights a week..so i had a good time before i settled down...i dont think its wise to settle down to soon my daughter had a mortgage when she was 18 and was working in the day and at university at night so her youth was either spent at school or work..and she regrets it now,,
I was 34 and divorced, she was an 18 year old school girl finishing A levels. I was working at her parents house and I took her sailing regularly. When they realised it was getting serious they sacked me. The best thing they could have done for us. We are still together after 25 years and two great children. I do get on ok with the parents now although mother can be a bit difficult at times.
I was 20 and she had just turned 18. I had finished with my previous girlfriend the day before (sorry Jane), and was not looking for another. She walked in - I asked her out, got engaged soon afterwards - married a year later and we are still together - very happy, its our 23rd wedding anniversary this year.
sorry, but I was young too. We met at age 18 at university. We lived in the same halls of residence, and shared the same first initial of our surnames, so shared a mailbox. I noticed someone in my mail box had exactly the same name as my previous boyfriend, which was intriguing, and then I realised it was this friendly guy I'd seen around halls. 17 years and one toddler on, we're more in love than ever.
