I wonder how long ago you were tested? I apologise if this sounds patronising, but I cannot leave it left unsaid - Sometimes you need to be tested several times at intervals because your blood glucose levels will rise and fall and so you need to take average readings over a period of time. It might be worth looking into again, because Type II diabetes can go undiagnosed for years and cause enormous problems with the feel and hands.
As far as management of pain is concerned, I have posted on other sites about the benefits of acupuncture, which has helped me enormously with a number of neuropathic disorders, including trigeminal neuralgia (I am 56 years old). Some areas of the UK offer acupuncture on the NHS, arranged through your GP, or there may be a chinese clinic in your area.
In the past, I tried heat pads and chill pads, and both extremes made the pain worse, and the first pain relief I found was the acupuncture.
I do hope that you find some help for this.
Neurontin is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant. It affects nerves and chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of seizures and various types of pain.
Neurontin is used alone or with other drugs to treat seizures that are caused by epilepsy in adults and children above 12 years old. Neurontin is used with other medications to treat partial seizures in children of 3-12 years old as well.
Neurontin is also used for treatment of nerve pain that is caused by shingles or herpes virus.
Don’t use Neurontin if you are allergic to gabapentin.
Before buying Neurontin, tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart disease.
Some patients have thoughts about suicide while taking Neurontin. Your pharmacist will need to check you regularly.
