my girlfriend has been trying to pee standing up this is due to the fact that so many toilets look minging and i wondered how many other ladies stand to do the bussiness

what most do is stand on the toilet seat and seat in this preposterous way and for me it's totally unhygienic and uncomfortable. so here's something. how about placing two lenghty tissues on the sides of the toilet seat. then place your hands. and then sit on you hands. this way.both your hands and your butt won't even have the slightest of chance to touch the toilet seat. and tada! a comfortable and hygienic way to pee without the need to stand

My wife does the same thing, like your other half, when using public loo's.

I do the 'squat and hover' - do you mean standing up facing the loo like a man (I've heard it can be done but never tried it) or standing over it facing the door?

The squat and hover is when you hover above the toilet, as if you were about to sit on it but stop and hover a few inches above the seat. If you have a particularly long wee it can makes your legs go trembly! It's not a pleasant experience and I try to hold it until I get home most of the time.
