If your hand was blown off would you opt for a hook or a prosthetic placky hand?
Personally I would go for a shiney metal one like the dude in Enter the Dragon.

NhS does provide some patient chice, but the 'hook' hand is generally more functional than a more authentic looking electronic hand. Main problem with them is it is hard to maintain the grip when reaching high over the head due to the way the grip mechanism is activated, so changing light bulbs can be a problem.
Got to agree, Han the Man and his 'four fingered razor' mitt. Your bound to get served in the pub if you wave that around with a 'tenner' speared on the end.
Alternatively, does anyone remember the old 'Action Man' with 'realistic gripping hands' ? How about a varient on that with a humming bird thumb?
