Hair!
Hi wonder if anyone can give me some tips. Im mid-30s but have been going grey since I was about 30. I've naturally got dark brown hair so I have my roots done every 4-5 weeks but because my hair is so dark after about only 1 or 2 weeks you can start seeing the grey coming through!! I was thinking of going lighter or may be have some highlights as I figure the grey wont show up as much??!! Any ideas?? (my the way Im female)!
Ta in advance.

I have exactly the same problem - I'm almost 30 with (quite) a few grey hairs around my hairline and temples for about the last 6 years or so & I'm also naturally quite dark,,,,,
Firstly, do you normally colour your hair at home or go to a salon? If at home, normal colour kits eg Nice n Easy etc will slide off grey hairs within a couple of weeks however much they promise 100% coverage whereas salon colours last a bit longer as they use a higher concentration of peroxide/amonia so penetrate the hair better.
I agree that highlights are one of the best options as they do help to disguise incoming greys for an extra few weeks as they don't appear to be as obvious when they come in. However, this will only really work if you go for quite a light blonde highlight, which is lovely if its what you want but is quite a specific style if its not what you're looking for!
Also, one company (I can't remember who - I think Clairol or Garnier) have just brought out the first permanant touch up pack - available in I think 8 or 10 shades it is perfect for toching up stray gray hairs between full coloiurs - I haven't used it (as I have highlights!) but I have seen it in a couple of shops - |I know Wilkinsons definately have it if you have one locally.
Hope this helps xXx
