Is it true that NIcole Kidman is a hermaphrodite or is it just a malicious rumour?

It's a rumour - along the same lines of the long-held belief - equally without foundation - that Jamie Lee Curtis was born with deformed genetalia. In Ms. Curtis' case, the evidence stems from the belief that she was given a 'genderless' name so that which ever way her 'surgery' went, her name would suit. The reality is that Tony Curtis and janet Lee chose names for both their daughters - Jamie and Kelly - in advance of their births so that a boy or girl baby would be happy with the names their parents chose. This kind of facile nonsense simply a bi-product of fame, coupled with the fact that both ladies have adopted children, which is a choice of their own, and no-one's business but theirs. It appears that both stars have risen above such nasty and vicious rumours, and not allowed them to impinge on their professional careers, or their private lives.

Thanks Andy. Very well put. i am a fan of hers - i think she is an outstanding example of a modern women - a mother, fantastic actress, independent, in control and intelligent. And she won't compromise her acting to look more beautiful. The men in the office seem to have a problem with the independent women and bit and prefer to lust over bimbos - and in an office debate, the argument that she was a hermaphrodite was raised! Purlease!!

Thanks very much. It's in an office situation (I know I work in one) that such rumours gestate and ferment - people take a pseudo-fact and grace it with an essence of truth, and other people spread it round. There are entire websites devoted to the urban legnds that some of these stories can become - and no doubt Ms. Kidman will join Ms. Curtis in this dubious area of celebrity nonsense. Try telling the believers that Bob Holness played saxophone on Gerry Rafferty's 'Baker Street' and see who runs with that one (it was actually a wll-known session musician named Rafe Ravenscroft but don't let the truth spoil a good story - at least it's harmless!)
