if it was a gender and race unspecific theme for the group such as chess or knitting or general support group and it said 'blacks only', then yes it would be wrong because anyone should be allowed to attend that.
men aren't invited either
i think these sorts of thing have to have some sort of limits in order to focus the meetings. if it was for everyone of any gender and every race, the main issues would get lost trying to satisfy everyone.
Well noticed Dollie, and Joko, for god sake get of your european band wagon. Of course its wrong to have groups for a set colour of person, there is not white supoport groups because a) it is deemed that we are always treated well above fairly and b) there would be an outrage, as for one of my last questions this country is so backward now, it is not just the white man saying that even other races arfe sick of the present balance which seems to be full circle from years ago, should we pay the price for our ancestors , ? should we f^%$ but the age 40o upwards who run the country/world seem to think so, god help young white people, no wonder they se the BNP as an option,
DD - european bandwagon? what are you drivelling on about?
There are plenty of support groups for all sorts of people, whites included.
Unfortunately most white "support" groups tend to be run by racists, whereas the others are about coping with this racism.
The reason some people feel they need these groups is because they are in a minority group and need some support from racists and bigots spouting on about the BNP!
try to write something comprehensible next time
So Sammy22 says black music is hardly recognized or played on national radio.
Well my teenage daughter watches the various music channels on Sky and she is continualy flicking from one program to another.
These ALWAYS seem to be playing black music.
I have to say that most of the pop videos showing black men are enough to make you want to join the BNP.
Aggressive actions and behaviour, great desire to appear unpleasant and sneering, and almost always degrading to women.
And black people wonder why society wants nothing to do with them. Maybe they should watch these videos for an answer.
goodness gracious me !
2% my a$$ !!!
come to brum.
this country is full of racists, thats a fact !
most of them are WHITE, thats also a fact !
nearly all of the racist remarks come from WHITE people and are against WHITE BRITISH PEOPLE !
tell me another country on this planet where a person can get fed, clothed, housed, educated, cash, and the whole of the legal system on their side, free medical care (regardless of cost) without having contributed to the upkeep of the country.
ONLY IN BRITAIN !
get real. the so called "ethnic minorities" do pretty well in this green and pleasant land of ours.
IM ALL IN FAVOUR OF HELPING PEOPLE IN NEED, BUT DONT CALL ME A RACIST BECAUSE THIS COUNTRY IS BEING BLED DRY BY NON BRITS !!
LONG LIVE THE QUEEN...
This reply is to Joko - sorry Joko- don't want to fall out as you are obviously entitled to your point, however I would like to dispute one thing you have mentioned - you say most 'white' support groups tend to be run by racists. Other than the BNP i don't believe there are any other 'white' support groups in Britain simply because we are not allowed to use the 'W' word. I'm no magistrate or politician, but I do think that If I started a white's only support group I would be shut down in a heartbeat.
However I take your issues on board Joko but think you may be misguided in your thinking that most white support groups are run by racists - there simply aren't any 'white's only' support groups - unless you know different.
My God vehelpful guy, your thread only seems to highlight your own opinion on why society wants 'nothing to do' with black people. Its people like you that keeps racism and prejudice live and kicking! Just who exactly are you referring to as society? Do you mean people you associate with? Lets just say its abit of a sweeping statement for you to comment on society as a whole, yes? So is it only when black people do something that is seen as 'good' or 'respectable' that people like YOU will begin to accept black people? Hip-Hop is the biggest selling genre of music, then it is dancehall. Both is predominately black music. Such radio stations like Radio 1 will not play 'urban' or 'black' music. For example, they will play Estelle because alot of white people like her music but they wont play anything else. There are many black artists who feel very strongly against Radio 1 in particular because they wont play theyre music aswell, E.g Shystie (Google her why dont you). And the MOBO awards represent black music where it is failed to be recognised in say,the Brit Awards.
And lastly,if you feel so strongly about what you see on black music channels like MTV Base or Channel U, I strongly suggest you stop your daughter from watching it because God forbid, she might actually decide to date a guy who looks like hes in one of those videos!
dollie - there are indeed white support groups - and they are run by racists. that is the point.
they use the word support because using the word racist would cause them trouble.
it really depends on what is meant by 'support' - it doesn't necessarily mean support in a helpful friendly way
there is no need for helpful and friendly white support groups in this country because they are not in the minority.
