Continuing on from my previous post....do doctors really say STAT when they want something done immediatley, or am I in my own little world? he he

STAT is a medical term from the Latin for 'immediately'.

So yes - they do say it.

My wife says it's an American thing. Hence ER gets a lot of 'stat'.

I use the term stat on a daily basis working as a nurse!!
