When fat people run, does it hurt them? I'm not fat, never have been, so when I see some run through the park, I was wondering if the fat wobbling about actually aches? Or as the chances are the fat has built up over a period of time, do they not notice this extra burden and just get tired more quickly? [edited by ABED]

Its not really the nicest of questions kid, but I am sure that if you put a few bags of sugar in your pockets and ran for a bit, I am sire that your body would ache. They are not doing it for fun, but they are on a path to a more health concious lifestyle.

As for the build up of fat. You are right that as it has been over time, they do not notice the weight so much and do get tired more quickly. Little tasks that we take for granted becomes troublesome, like walking a one flight of stairs.

It does not hurt, but you might get ailments like sore knees quicker than your thinner counterparts, The fat is just like wearing a layer of heavy jelly all over you. It takes a lot of effort to run whilst fat, so you actually burn more calories than thinner people. If I weighed you down with a 3 stone body suit, all over, and asked you to run, you would get exhausted quicker, but you would not hurt. You may ache the next day if you are using muscles that you do not usually use, but so does everyone.
" Porkers" fishkid? Its people like you who cause others to become anorexic! Please,be kinder in your questions.

I have far too many snide comments to make to the OP, better restrain myself.

Shakes head... You make foot going in your mouth so effortless. At least try and pick up some manners.

You may not be carrying fat but i bet fat is prefarable to that GIANT ego sitting on your shoulder, fighting for room with your fathead!
Well fish kid, I really do hope you are a kid otherwise there is no excuse for your ridiculous, ignorant question!
Can't you find something a little more intellectual to ask about ? If this is the burning issue in your life then I feel sorry for you.
I sincerely hope that this ignorant question is removed. How would you like to be referred to as a 'Thicko' Fish Kid? You need to grow up and learn how to be polite.

What a w***er

How can you report these topics ?

maybe one day as you get older fish kid, you might put on x amount of weight, when we're young we think it'll never happen , but as you hit the 40-50 mark sometimes it does happen with the menopause & hormones (male or female) and also if you have a medical problem the medication can put weight on, so you shouldn't judge people by their size, i think your'e very cruel by saying what you said, it doesn't matter wether a person is big or small , skinny or tall, it's the personality and caring that matters, by the way , well said FINA.

Does your peabrain hurt when it rattles around inside your head?

As a porker, I must say what a great post you made. Most of the "slim" fraternity neglect to consider how our larger regions may be affected by such a pendulum effect. I must admit that a certain amount of discomfort is felt but that is nothing to the swinging motion of ones buttocks flaying about like a pair of sails. In conclusion, indeed fishbloke, yes it bloody hurts.

I seem to have worded my post in such a way that offends - apologies for that. I wasn't judging people by their size, just wondering if excess weight is painful when exercising.

Thank you b0shb4ll for answering the question - gives me some incentive to stay off the pies.

To all those who posted hurtful replies about my ego, peabrain, etc.. - Two wrongs don't make a right.
Fish Kid- I also answered your question seriously.

Sorry Scarlett - missed you amongst the torrent of abuse.

Thank You!

Two wrongs dont make a right. And prejudice and abuse only work when the recipient acknowledges it and reacts to it. I respect Scarlett and b0shb4ll for their restraint and refusal to go down to your level. I also recognise the fact that you were brave enough to admit that your question was really tactless.

The question however is would you have apologised for it if you did not receive b0shb4ll's reply or if you didnt get any criticism at all? Would you have gone away thinking you didnt do anything wrong?

Stop playing a victim, you made an apology and it should have ended there. Yet you are now doing exactly what you are blaming everyone else for reacting to abuse.

Too many questions for my pea brain.

As someone who is also very slight in stature, I agree with the validity of Fish Kid's question. I am continually asked how I eat so much and keep the weight off or do I get blown away in a gale. The simple truth is people are curious about others and that is part of human nature. If we all took offence at questions we would have to close schools down. Simiarly it is entirely justified to use the word Porker as this correctly describes some one who is morbidly obese, here is the dictioanry definition,

A fattened young pig.
Slang. A fat person.

Please refrain from moronic correctness

There are a great deal of slang words in the dictionary which are used to describe people -t his doesn't make it polite to call anybody by these names. The word 'porker' is offensive to overweight people. Fish Kid's use of the word on this site is not acceptable.

'Moronic' definiton

I don't think that those on this thread who have criticised Fish Kid for being insensitive deserve this!

TBH if you had not used the term 'porkers' the question would not have been that bad and may have been accepted as a valid question. Referring to people in slang terms because of their physical appearance is a really unintelligent thing to do. The so-called porkers should be commended for trying to improve their health, and I feel comments such as yours could be very damaging to an overweight person who may be self conscious about exercising in public.

Somebody who feels the necessity to use derogatory terms about other people, especially based on appearance, obviously has their own issues with regards to themselves.
