Anti-glare filter

What's the best kind of anti-glare filter to get? Using a CRT monitor is making my eyes very sore even with tinted glasses with anti-glare coating. How about anti-radiation filters? Are they very effective?

I found my monitor was making my eyes itch, so i searched the internet using "eye strain" and most of the results i came up with just suggested turning the brightness down a bit. I did this and it made things a lot better. Mind you having said that, i bought a new monitor about 2 months ago which is much better than my last. It's a 19" Mitsubishi Diamondtron, and as long as you don't mind the two shadows of the wires supporting Apeture Grille (which only show up on a white background) it's pretty easy on the eyes. Try lowering the brightness, it will look a bit strange and dark for a while, but after a day or so you won't notice the difference - and it's kinder on your eyes. Good luck.

Thanks, I figured out the brightness and contrast buttons : ) but I really do need an anti-glare filter. I'm not really ready to shell out on a new monitor. I used a filter at my last job and I found that I had NO problems at all.

Hey there. I had a simular problem. Sore eyes from crt screens. I thought the glare or radiation thing was causing it too. What solved my problem was setting the refresh rate up to 85 Hz or as high as your monitor allows. When the refresh rate is to low, say 60 or so it seems to hurt your eyes.
