Anus: The opening at the lower end of the alimentary canal through which solid waste is eliminated from the body

Colon: The section of the large intestine extending from the cecum to the rectum.

Rectum: The terminal portion of the large intestine, extending from the sigmoid colon to the anal canal

ileum: The terminal portion of the small intestine extending from the jejunum to the cecum.

etc: And other unspecified things of the same class; and so forth.

Superb answer Obo, and what happened to good ol' sphincter? The muscle that holds it all together at the business end, for more info on all this talk to any Stoma care nurse at your local hospital who'll point you in the right direction.

Not sure if it was intentional sft42, but the thought of a stomach care nurse pointing in the right direction brought tears to my eyes!

Sorry to sound pedantic Obo but i did mean Stoma care nurse. These are the wonderful people who look after you when you have had a colostomy or an ileostomy or an Urostomy.
