well the fact they are alive and healthy and not knocked up with a heroin habit is surely a gift.

If they forget a card, don't worry. Their faces, although at times a bit moody, will be all the greeting a mum could want.

well thats me told then ward! you have a point i spose tho but when WILL they start appreciating what we do for them? i thought at 16 and 18 they would by now!

well you have a week to hope don't you.

I don't have an answer for you with apologies. To tell you the truth I don't really like kids. Pesky little so and soes.

However I am sure in their hearts of hearts they think their mum is great. All kids do, apart from Rose West's ones probably.

Why don't you gets drunk with them at home. I am sure they will think you are the coolest mother ever.

Good luck.

Poglet, I am sure if they watch tv at any time, they will see all the adverts for...

Russel Watson sings classical!

Barry Manilow sings the fifties!

David Essex sings his greatest hits!

Or something advertised with Bing Crosby and the like on!

And at the end of every advert, the same voice pops up. "The perfect gift for Mothers Day"

yikes!

Poglet, from personal experience, you don't properly appreciate your parents and everything they've done for you until you move out of home! So one day they will! I'll be getting my Mum a huuuge bunch of flowers and some chocolates this year! Having a proper job also helps with the gift budget!

No, Pog, they won't appreciate you until they leave home. I did not appeciate my Mum until I was away from her for a long time, at Uni. Even now that I am back living in the same town, I don't appreciate her as much as I did when I was away.

sammd- great minds!!x
Maybe you should develop a diplomatic back problem which confines you to bed for a week, forcing them to do all the cooking and washing on the basis that "Nobody knows how much I do until I stop doing it". Then perhaps they might realise just how much you actually do.
