Girls infront of boys

I know a girl who won't eat at all in front of boys. I'm not sure why, but someone else too mentioned that her mate won't eat infront of lads. Does anyone know why or any other things girls won't do in front of male counterparts?

When I first started going out with my boyfriend, I could barely touch food. I think it was just embarrassing to think he might think I was a pig. Five years later, I don't care and I caneat him under the table! x

I think with some girls eating has to be a ladylike thing. It normally occurs at the beginning of relationships as they do not want to be seen wolfing down their food. There is also the risk of spillage, bits in your teeth etc - all to be embarrased about. If it continues after a couple of weeks there is obviously something missing in the relationship (comfortableness).

I personally have never had a problem eating in front of blokes - I wolf it down!! If they can do it then why can't I!!

Another one would probably be going to the toilet with man nearby. All embarrassing things but you just have to get over the initial awkwardness before it all comes with ease.

I didn't like eating in front of my fella, and now three years on we are married and, like whiskeysheri, I can eat him under the table!

Also, aside from the not eating so much thing, when we went out for a meal I would go for something delicate and light, like a salad, or tuna, or chicken. Now I have whatever I want no matter how manly or strong of garlic it is!

Oh, and my younger sister, who is 16, and my husbands female cousins who are 16 and 17, also freak out if they are eating a boy they know was to see them. My sister tricked me into carrying her bag of chips because she saw some boys she knew from school.

I never understand girls who are like that. I'm the type of girl who would go out for dinner on a first date and probably end up with the contents of my plate down the front of my dress!! Start as you mean to go on, I say.

Growing up, I used to be quite shy at eating in front of anyone other than my close family.

I felt the same when I met my husband, but over the years, going out to dinner parties & functions soon brought me ut of my shell.
