Twenty Two Years And Counting.

I sometimes see women commuting to work with really small bags and it makes me wonder how on earth they can survive with taking so little out with them!
I carry my purse, keys, lipsalve, handbag mirror, tissues, comb, mobile phone, train ticket, swipe card for work, glasses case, small umbrella and my diary. All that completely fills my bag, so there is no room for my book or my lunch, so I invariable end up taking them in a Next bag or something!
What do you carry around with you and how big a bag do you need?

My husband laughs at what I carry around with me, but doesn't complain when we're out and about and asks me to look after his phone/MP3 player etc!
I seriously regret the fact that 'man bags' never caught on here like they have in Europe, but men are far more sure of their sexuality over there! I do carry a large cavas satchel, because I carry my tape machine, cassetees, batteries, notebooks, diary, and loads of freelance bits and bobs - my phone I keep in my pocket.
All my girls carry bags you could carry the contents of a village library in - apparently the fashion is now for really big bags.
Karen2005 I have tried so many times to use a small bag, but I just can't do it!!
Looked in my bag just now, apart from the usual stuff phone, purse, folding brush, brolly, tissues, lipsalve and diary also found 3 pens (with no lids on) a half bottle of antibiotics, I stopped taking weeks ago, half a small forest of shopping receipts, a tub of tiger balm, part of a bathroom tile!, a dog poop bag and the obligatory fluff covered loose Tic Tac.
My mum had a huge handbag which she carried everywhere, which was full of tissues, pens, a diary, receipts, cheque book etc and when I was a kid, I always said to her I would NEVER use a handbag as you don't need to carry around all that junk, but now I'm a bit older (23) I also now carry a bag full of crap I don't really need!
