I dont know if i should be writing this here or in food or drink so i'll give it a go here first.
Does anyone know if it is safe and healthy to drink these no added sugar fizzy drinks on a daily basis, if not what can the bad effects be. Thanks to any one who can help.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.no added sugar fizzy/non drinks are as bad, if not worse for you than sugared fizzy/non fizzy drinks. No added sugar usually means they are sweetened with Aspartame which is banned in america yet widely used here (recently linked to cancer). Water is best, though I do enjoy a coke, though never diet!
Most sugar free or diet drinks (fizz or no fizz) often have the artificial sweetener called Aspartame. Sugar free food, candies as well. Aspartame causes cancer as well as headaches, migrains, short term memory loss. I researched it a few years ago, but can't remember everything. The evidence is incredible. But you will also see just as much evidence telling people it is safe and the experiments and reseach is inconclusive. So I did a test for myself. I love diet coke but I was definetly noticing my memory wasnt as sharp, I thought it was because I was stressed (and it could have been that also) but Im only 24 years old. I gave up diet coke for quite some time and only drank it in moderation, there was a big difference. I have friends that it doesn't bother though.
To each his own I guess.
Sorry, those posts weren't posted when I started writing.
I am an American, from New York State. Aspartame is definetly not banned anywhere in the United States. Im drinking a Diet Coke at the moment, and it reads aspartame. Also Nutrasweet, any and ALL sugarless gums in the US also have aspartame. And a TON of sugarfree candies do as well. But, the FDA did attempt it several years ago, but like I said in the other post, the experiments and info. was all inconclusive. I agree that it should be banned.
