One night stand or relationship?

Why is it that a some guys would prefer to have a succession of one-night-stands rather than a long-term relationship?

Surely if he was in a relationship he could get all the sex he wants anyway so why choose one-night-stands?

I'm not talking about anyone in particular, just basing this on my experience and friend's experiences etc.

Are you a guy who would rather have one night stands? If so, what do you get from this that you couldn't have in a relationship? Not here to judge anyone, just would like to know the truth.

I think, Angel, that it is the thrill of making out with someone new and different, particularly after the 'chase'

We are all different in many ways and sexual differences are also up there amongst them. I just think that it is this variety that engages so many guys to flit from one to another. She likes this and she does that etc etc

When Mrs right comes along I think all ones experiences then fall into one pot - as it were.

I read somewhere that men are natually polygamous.. It had something to do with spreading their genes to as many mates as possible (or at least go through the act of passing them on).. therefore giving the best chance as possible of his genes surviving and continuing in the future..

I know it sounds a bit bestial but it could be an answer

my daughter is like this too. she is 19 and really gorgeus but after 1 bad relationship has decided she really cant be bothered and prefers one night stands. she gets asked out all the time and says no. she says she doesnt need the complications of a relationship. she is studying, going to Mexico on holiday and totally not interested..changed days i suppose. she was at a famous footballers nightclub the other night, and a 'footballer', who she said was hot, text her to take her on a date, she said no..i gotta admire her!!!!

Im a bit of a cave man and not good at relationships....I want to settle down....but not good at em...so have had a lot of one nite stands...a lot when i dont remember the birds name, which is not good.

i loved having one night stands,it was the thrill of the chase, it was the touch of a different person,it was being with the most beautiful woman one day and a bit of a minger the next?

it was great, and i miss it every single day!!

but, i used to look at the old boys looking young in the night clubs and i made the desicion that it was a young mans sport!!

before all the sexist jump on my back................. its also a womans sport!! if i had one night stands,the girls i had them with, had one night stands also!!

How would I know if a guy is just after a ONS?

I had a weird experience the other week in that I met a guy in a bar one night, got chatting and he asked for my number. Ended up going back to his house (with no intention of sleeping with him coz wrong 'time of the month'!) but he did not try it on at all! He even gave up his bed for me and went to sleep in the spare room!!

I said he could sleep in the bed with me, which he then did, but we were both clothed and he barely even tried to touch me, we just had a few snogs then went to sleep.

Now, I'm not complaining but what the hell does that mean?
