Guy at my gym - part 2

Following on from my question the other day about a guy that I like at my gym but have not spoken to yet. Someone mentioned about him being gay. It didn't occur to me that he could be until someone said that. Do gay blokes hang around the weight area then? Is this common knowledge? I've never heard this before.

Anyway, saw him earlier and he did come in with a bloke so now I feel even less like talking to him. It's more embarrassing unknowingly chatting up a gay bloke than it is getting turned down by a straight guy!

How do I know if he's gay (without asking him!)?

i got male friends and im straight. trust your instincts. talk to the man and get to know him in a "working out at the gym" sort of way.

The problem is, I have just come out of a 6-year relationship so I am really not used to this anymore.

I don't want to look like a tw** and dread going back to the gym if it goes pear shaped.

Maybe I just won't bother. Can't be doing with this stress that being single causes :-(

life isnt long enough to stress about the simple things.

its a mixed gym, you must have talked to other guys.

He may not be gay, but he could be a bit overconcerned with his physical appearance. Also there are guys (and girls) who get something from giving folk the eye to get their admiration and get them to make a move to boost their fragile ego, but who may not be interested in other people in any real sense. Don't mean that to be as negative as it sounds, but, if he likes you he'll come over to you at the water-fountain or something - I think you should give it time.
