Large Gin and Tonic Ice and a slice

Codamol..its the strongest, chemists say. Or get prescription ones!
2 paracetomol and 2 ibuprofen always works for me - and yes, you can take them together!
I agree Elvis - A double vodka and orange - without the orange!!

Boots do their own paracetamol and dihydracodeine mix (available without prescription) which are really good for non perscription painkillers.

I find that Ibuprofen work best for me but they burn if taken on an empty stomach
Syndol tablets, very powerful with a muscle relaxant to ease tension, make you feel spaced out, bliss!!
pink migraleve - helps with the nausea too.

I have read recently that essence of Peppermint rubbed on the forehead works. You can get it in the Chemist it's called 4Head. I've often had success with 'Tiger Balm' also rubbed onto the forehead.

1977Nicky--i wouldn';t reccomend taking two ibuprofen and two paracetamol. Thats an overdose!!

2 soluble Solpadeine.

Best cure for anything.

weeeeeeeeeed ;-)
sizzlesquid its not an overdose at all. Im a nurse in orthopaedics and that is perfectly normal, as long as the brufen is 200mg tabs.
migraleave are really good.
Some people find that an aspirin and paracetamol combination works well for headaches. Anadin Extra is one but there are several brands available. Generic (unbranded) ones are much cheaper but not all chemists stock them. As noxlumos suggested, paracetamol and dihydracodeine is probably the 'strongest' analgesic you can buy over the counter without a prescription. Paramol should be available at most chemists but Boots own brand will cost less.
I hate taking painkillers of any sort in an ideal situation, but find Extra strength Ibuprofen effective. However, if I had a really bad headache and the offer of a deep muscle massage around my neck and shoulders I'd opt for that every time, as in my experience many headaches (apart from eyestrain and the hangover variety) are caused by poor posture and tension around the neck area.
anadin extra wen i had the worst migraine lost my vision 2, took 2 tabs of anadin extra & within 20-30 i was peachy
