HOUSE. In some episodes of House the Drs go into the patient's homes to look for clues, often without the patient's knowledge. 1. Is this common practice in the USA and 2. Has it ever been done in Great Britain?
This is not a common practice by any means in the USA. You only have a max of 15 min with a doctor at their office, I can't imagine one taking the time to really do some research by going to your home. Im sure you would have to pay big bucks for that. It's even hard to get child services to come to your home. If they did it without your permission, they could loose their practice and maybe even their license.
its a total fiction - there would be far to many legal issues involved both in the states and the uk to act like that even if the doctor had enough time to start snooping around peoples houses
