Polycystic ovaries UPDATE
5 weeks ago i visited a specialist as they had done a scan and thought i had PCOS as i have never had a period, i got some great advice on AB at the time.
Well update - the day before my hospital appointment i got my first period. 3 months ago the doctors took me off my pill to see what my hormone count would say and it has come back confirming PCOS.
before when i was on the pill i was quite weepy and anxious, off it i feel great, generally happy.
The specialist has also said that since i dont show any signs of PCOS syptoms, weight gain, spots, dark patches skin etc that i wont need anything at the moment. and should any these problems arise in the future we will deal with them then.
Also should i want to start a family, i have to try for 6 months then see my GP and be refered again and they can prescribe something to help me concieve!
Now my problem is since coming off the pill, i have went back to my normal weight and im more happy and dont seem to fly off the handle. i cant take the combined pill due to my mum having a blood clot as i was taken off that by my GP and the last 2 years have been on the mini pill, which both just made me quite angry and tearful. so now im thinking what type of contraception should i consider. i have made an appointment at my GP to discuss this, but would like to have some ideas before i go. any suggestions would be grateful

I'd like to know what your GP says about this coz I have PCOS and wanted to come off the Pill as it is causing me to feel generally weepy and put weight on. My GP says that I have to stay on the Pill though to regulate my hormones. I also don't show any symptoms of PCOS so can you let me know what you GP says....
