hi I know this aint a body and soul question but you guys have helped me before and may again....where does everyone file their bills, bank statements etc and how long do ya keep em for??? ta x ps posted in home and garden but no one helped moi x

I have an old filing cabinet in my loft where everything gets filed away.

Once a year I have a good clear out and shred everything except the lastest 3 months bills and so on.

Anything from the Tax Office I keep for at least 5 years.

I have a drawer where I shove it all. I've got all my bank statements since I was about 14! I should probably sort them out one day.

Probably best to keep most bills and receipts for three years. Tax info should probably be kept for six years.
