My stepfather of 83 has recently lost half a stone for no reason and is experiencing fatigue, dry mouth and some neuralgia pains .. he is having a blood test soon but I wondered if anyone knew what this might point to ????

There are quite a few conditions that can lead to unexplained weight loss lady.... the combination of dry mouth, fatigue and weight loss sounds suggestive to me of diabetes.

I would certainly recommend seeing a Dr as soon as possible.

Think kidneys as well. Blood test will point at the possible cause.

Ask that he sees a dietician for advice too.

How well is he drinking? It could be, he is dehydrated. Good luck with his tests.
